In terms of the mechanicals, as previously said, Jeep has chosen to bet everything on diesel, which makes perfect sense for the European market. The new Gladiator is powered by a 3.0-liter MultiJet V6 diesel engine that produces 264 horsepower and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. It is equipped with a Stop & Start system and additional technologies that allow it to comply with Euro 6D regulations.

The aforementioned block is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a permanent 4×4 drive system called Selec-Trac, which includes a two-speed transfer case with a reducer. Jeep emphasizes in this regard that all models of the range feature a capacity all-terrain Trail-Rated towing capacity.
